Along with the confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh, there has been much conversation about one of the most controversial Supreme Court rulings in the past half century… Roe vs. Wade, which legalized abortion in the United States. Since then, millions have been needlessly killed in the name of “healthcare.”
Proponents of abortion argue that the pre-born baby is not a human being, but simply a “potential” human being. In their defense of Roe vs. Wade, they rarely mention the baby at all, usually completely ignoring the reality of another human life involved, instead focusing on terms and phrases like “a woman’s right over her own body” and “a woman’s right to choose” and “a woman’s right to healthcare.” In over 99% of the cases, abortion is not about a woman’s health… it’s about an unwanted baby.
I am encouraged by Albert Mohler’s latest blog post, which opens with these words: “Nancy Keenan is worried. The current president of NARAL, Keenan detects a loss of fervor in support of abortion rights among younger women, and she talked openly to Newsweek about her concern.”
Today is the 37th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. America continues to kill unborn children. Here is a wonderful story of a family who refused to take the “easy way out”:
“Mugged by Ultrasound: Why So Many Abortion Workers Have Turned Pro-Life”,by David Daleiden and Jon Shields, is a gut-wrenching, disturbing, graphic account of the emotional trauma abortion wrecks on those who perform them. For example, in 2008, Dr. Lisa Harris explained what happened while she, 18-weeks pregnant at the time, performed an abortion on an 18-week-old fetus. She felt her own baby kick at the same time she ripped off a fetal leg with her forceps. This prompted a visceral response.
Instantly, tears were streaming from my eyes—without me—meaning my conscious brain—even being aware of what was going on. I felt as if my response had come entirely from my body, bypassing my usual cognitive processing completely. A message seemed to travel from my hand and my uterus to my tear ducts. It was an overwhelming feeling—a brutally visceral response—heartfelt and unmediated by my training or my feminist pro-choice politics. It was one of the more raw moments in my life.
