50 Years Ago Today…the Best

Fifty years ago today Columbia records released Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. It is considered the greatest jazz LP of all time. It is also one of my favorites of all time.

In case you were wondering (I know, very slim chance), here’s my all-time favorite LPs (in alphabetical order by title):

Collaboration – George Benson & Earl Klugh (jazz)

Double Vision – David Sanborn & Bob James (jazz)

Hungry (Live) – Vineyard Music (praise and worship)

Kind of Blue – Miles Davis (jazz)

Live at Montreux – Miles Davis & Quincy Jones (jazz)

Messiah – G. F. Handel (classical)

This Year’s Model – The Imperials (80s contemporary Christian)

Time Out – The Dave Brubeck Quartet (jazz)

Maybe you’ve never heard of Kind of Blue. If you’ve got 8 minutes to spare, step into a new understanding of jazz greatness:
